SITmUP Advertising

Stuck In The Mud Underground Advertising or SITmUP was created in 2002 by Diana Boggs & Shelli Biediger who met on a Vizsla listserv. Diana had the ideas & Shelli had the skill to bring those ideas to life, despite being over 1,000 miles apart. In 2003 SITmUP helped to change National Event catalog advertising from what it was to more creative advertising programs about "what, why, when, where & how" we should promote in hard copy.
 
With that thought in mind...in 2010 year of the 50th anniversary of the AKC Vizsla & the Vizsla Club of America, SITmUP introduced the advertising program in The VIZSLA NEWS called "Honor, Respect, Remember" where our past Vizsla statesmen & their dogs were honored. What SITmUP learned from "Honor, Respect, Remember" is that the Vizsla fancy WANTS to see more of their history & learn more about those who have made a difference. SITmUP is testing a different way of supporting The VIZSLA NEWS whilst being supportive, creative & innovative within the changing times.  
 
Our intent is to focus on stories of various Vizsla kennels from foundation bloodstock to great accomplishments. The initial focus, whilst being about Vizsla kennels is to also bring in the various themes of that particular VIZSLA NEWS for that subject (field, performance, breeding, National Events). A secondary focus is to contact the Vizsla fancy who lives close to that next National Event who will be welcoming the rest into their home, Look out Colorado & Minnesota, you guys are up to bat next.
 
There are multiple options for ad lay-outs which mean that more can spend less to help VIZSLA NEWS return to the great breed hard copy magazine we deserve. If you like the idea but can do your own ad, that is great !! That means even more Vizsla presence in the next issue.

The ability to advertise in VIZSLA NEWS as brags etc sans health #s,
but not for breeding, has recently been expanded which supports this particular...
 
"Barnstorm of an idea that creates one, two-page ads and also quarter/eighth-page ads about Vizsla kennels (historical leanings) with the initial focus on field, and areas closer to the 2013 spring VCAEvents in Colorado & Minnesota that promotes many Vizsla ancestors."
 
If you have an accomplished field dog, want your kennel history in hard copy and/or are from or near Colorado & Minnesota (site of VCA 2013 spring events), then consider supporting this concept. The expenses for are reasonable, promote more participation & subjects for The VIZSLA NEWS reader. People really are interested in seeing your dogs, particularly if historical-like. Don't be shy if you offer a service or wish to acknowledge a Rescue group or just want to wish your breeder, your club good luck or congratulations.
  
Everyone is welcome to participate. Nor do you have to use SITmUP designers although
we will offer certain types of a "standard" less expensive service for the
one & two paged ads, the quarter-page ads and the eighth-page ads.
If someone wants a custom ad, cost depends on complexity/availability.

As the world has changed via the Internet, so too has advertising. No Vizsla event Licensed, Sanctioned or Club exists with proficient people subsidizing (supporting). The VIZSLA NEWS is our breed voice. It needs your help too. Advertising today is more about kennels, websites, social media, ideals, sportsmanship, education, camaraderie, appreciation, recognition
& not just advertising for studs or to sell puppies.

May sport a short paragraph or bullets about a Kennel's foundation stock and those who have followed surrounding paragraph in center. We don't have a centerfold sample but we can provide a past "early draft" centerfold as an example designed by SITmUP for Onpoint Vizslas.

May sport a short paragraph or bullets about a Kennel's foundation stock and those who have followed surrounding paragraph in center. If the customer doesn't have a good background shot, don't worry. The SITmUP background photo gallery is diverse. No two published backgrounds will be the same.

This example of a historical 2-page ad created by SITmUP toasting Behi & Paradox longevity & style appeared on outer/inner January 2011 VIZSLA NEWS. This was literally a family project with the Boggs family working this up the previous Thanksgiving holiday. You could have the same & more fun by creating a historical-like ad about your Vizsla kennel.

QUARTER-PAGE SITmUP ADS
 
There isn't enough room with quarter-page advertising to tell much of a story but it can be used to focus on a single issue one wishes to make a point of and do so reasonably.
 
Using the quarter-page is a lovely way of publishing your past advertising in VCA catalogs.
National event catalogs reach an audience around 250-300.
The VIZSLA NEWS reaches an audience of about 1200.

There isn't enough room with eighth-page advertising to tell any story but is used to focus on a single issue one wishes to make a point of at a SITmUP fee that includes design AND space rental in The VIZSLA NEWS. Eighth pages are great to shout out Good Luck for impending events, brags, Happy New Year, whatever appropriate advertising idea inspires. They are also nifty for doing kennel logos with contact info, etc.
