The Vizsla, T’Blicky was born in Hungary in 1944 and his pedigree was considered to be one of the best at that time. He and his dam, Katy, belonged to a man a\by the name of G. Nemes. One cold January morning in 1949, Mr Nemes and his family were forced to flee their terror stricken Hungary, and T’Blicky was one of the many Vizslas he left behind. Mr Nemes knew that T’Blicky could never endure all of the trials he and his family were about to endure as refugees illegally fleeing their homeland. He entrusted a friend to care for the dog with the homes that some day they would be re-united.

Mr Nemes and his family finally settled safely in French Morocco. He arranged to have T’Blicky shipped to Casablanca via an old, established French family also living there. He feared that using his own name would raise suspicions among the Communists in Hungary. T’Blicky was to be flown from Budapest to Mr R in Casablanca. No one ever dreamed on the day T’Blicky boarded the plane in Budapest that it would take over a month for him to reach his family in Casablanca. Normally it was a two day journey to fly from Budapest to Prague and then on to Casablanca. However, unbeknownst to anyone other than the co-conspirators, the plane was to be hijacked by a group of people plotting to escape the country. A few hours into the flight, the pilot was forced at gunpoint to bypass his route to Prague, Czechoslovakia and set his course for Munich in free West Germany. The plane arrived in Munich and T’Blicky was to be transferred to a plane destined for Casablanca. However someone erroneously transferred the poor dog to a plane headed for Algiers, about 500 miles from Casablanca. Of course no one in Algiers knew Mr R, so T’Blicky remained at the airport for several weeks until someone thought to look for Mr R somewhere else.

Soon Mr R was located and the dog was shipped to Casablanca, where the joyous Nemes family welcomed him. While T’Blicky arrived happy and healthy, he must have charmed all of his guards along the way, because he was so fat, he couldn’t bark. He did however, show great excitement at the sight of his family, jumping all around in typical vizsla style.

After his ordeal T’Blicky deserved a quiet, restful, family life including a mate. Mr Nemes ordered a female vizsla from Hungary and T’Blicky and Borsi were soon mated. Their first litter was whelped in free Casablanca as were others. Eventually T’Blicky descendants lived amongst some of the richest familes in Europe, some even at the court of kings. One of T’Blicky and Borsi’s daughters, Dgin, went to live in the US, where she was bred to imported Urfi of Goncoltanya. That breeding produced a daughter, Piri, whom when bred to Bela Hadik’s Hunor, produced a top line of field and bench champions who were on their way to making vizsla history
